Michael B. Matalon

With over thirty years of architectural experience, Mr. Matalon is registered LEED-AP and is familiar with all phases of architectural planning and design, from initial programming through building construction.

He brings considerable experience in the master planning and design of both public sector as well as private sector projects to your team. Such projects include commercial projects, mixed use structures, medical facilities, senior housing, recreational facilities, schools and interior improvements.

Mr. Matalons commercial work experience encompasses over one million square feet of office space; a partial list that includes such projects as First Interstate Plaza and Columbia Square; both in downtown San Diego. He has also designed numerous commercial facilities for Wells Fargo Bank, Union Bank, and San Diego National Bank.

Mr. Matalon has worked on the medical front with such respected clients as Sharp Healthcare, UCSD Healthcare, and Operation Samahan.

Through his extensive work on senior housing with clients such as Southern California Presbyterian Homes, San Diego Hebrew Homes, and Sunshine Care, Michael has developed a considerable working knowledge in the design of facilities covering the full continuum of housing for seniors.

Mr. Matalon’s experience with public entities includes the City of San Diego, the City of Thousand Oaks, the City of Salinas, the City of Escondido the City of Victorville, as well as the County of San Diego.

Educational clients include San Diego State University, San Diego Community College District, Grossmont Union High School District, Coronado Unified School District, and the Cajon Valley Union School District.

He has also been involved in the design of such specialized, one-of-a-kind projects, such as the new U.S Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, and The Salvation Army’s 575 acre Divisional Camp and Conference Center in Ramona.

Other: Mike is a faithful Trojan fan and proudly waves the USC colors¬†(notice firm’s logo colors). ¬†When Mike is not at work he is taxiing his very active twin boys to and from their numerous activities. Mike, his wife, and two sons live in the Bird Rock area and spend their weekends on the soccer or baseball fields. He is also a card carrying member of the Shawnee Tribe from Oklahoma.
