Founded in 1994, Matalon Architecture & Planning is a full-service architectural firm, providing programming, master planning, building design, and interiors to both the Public and Private sectors.

The firm was founded out of the desire by Michael Matalon to provide a truly service-oriented firm for its clients, with complete principal involvement at all phases of design and construction. Due to the nature of this level of involvement, the firm is intentionally kept at a relatively small size. While the firm’s focus is on quality of work rather than quantity, we have, and continue to demonstrate our capabilities through the successful execution of projects ranging up to $10 million.

Due to the philosophy that a building’s design is the true reflection of the client, rather than an architect’s design whim, the firm has received numerous design awards from a diversity of organizations; and even more importantly, a dedicated following of repeat clients.

ARCHITECTURE

Our architectural services include design, preparation of construction documents, and construction administration. We also provide a wide variety of services including feasibility studies, architectural programming, project management, site planning, and interior design services.

Planning

Planning is the process of particularizing and, ultimately, of harmonizing the demands of environment, use, and economy. This process has a cultural as well as a utilitarian value, for in creating a plan for any social activity the architect inevitably influences the way in which that activity is performed.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Enhancing the interior of a building to achieve a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the people using the space. We make interior spaces functional, safe, and beautiful by determining space requirements and selecting decorative items, such as colors, lighting, and materials.
